Anche il Codacons ha partecipato oggi al ?Consesso planetario dell’educazione ambientale? in programma a Torino, evento partito nel 1993 e giunto alla terza edizione, al quale prendendo parte i vari soggetti coinvolti nella tutela dell’ambiente.
Il tema trattato dall’associazione è stato quello relativo all’uragano Katrina. Nel dibattito ci si chiedeva se il fenomeno fosse solo da attribuire ad un caso naturale, o se potevano esservi altre spiegazioni.
Carlo Rienzi, Presidente Codacons, rispondendo alla domanda ha sostenuto come Katrina non sua stato un evento da collegare unicamente alla natura, ma anche all’azione dell’uomo e dell’inquinamento.
Nel suo intervento Rienzi ha richiamato le questioni ambientali maggiormente sentite in Italia e in qualche modo legate all’inquinamento del pianeta: onde elettromagnetiche, acqua, latte, pesticidi, rifiuti, discariche, batterie usate, ecc., invitando le istituzioni a predisporre ogni misura idonea a salvare le nostre terre e la salute dei cittadini.
Il Codacons infine ha attaccato duramente oggi da Torino tutte quelle associazioni ambientaliste che cercano i contributi del Ministero dell’Ambiente senza però muovere un dito per costituire il Consiglio Nazionale dell’Ambiente, argomento sul quale il Codacons ha presentato anche ricorso al Tar.
L’associazione ha chiesto dal palco del Consesso di sapere come vengono erogati, e poi utilizzati, i fondi del Ministero, e ha sollecitato un rinnovamento generale perché questi enti difendino effettivamente l’ambiente e non siano utilizzati come strumenti politici dei partiti.
