La decisione del Consiglio di Stato relativa ai lavori per l’ampliamento della base Usa di Vicenza, ci sembra una decisione di “ossequio”, evidentemente ai desideri di Berlusconi e del Ministro La Russa, che il Codacons non può certo condividere, anche perché non dice nulla circa i gravissimi rischi ambientali denunciati dalla stessa valutazione di incidenza ambientale fatta realizzare dagli americani, e quindi non sospetta.
In tale valutazione – spiega il Codacons – si fa riferimento al rischio di inquinamento delle acque destinate ai comuni di Padova e di Vicenza, e ai gravissimi rischi ambientali per rilevanti zone di interesse comunitario come quella su cui ricade il fiume Bacchiglione.
L’ordinanza del Cds lascia comunque il tempo che trova – conclude il Codacons – considerato che potrà avere effetto soltanto per due mesi, visto che l’8 ottobre Il Tar Veneto dovrà decidere nel merito sugli oltre 20 motivi di ricorso presentati, e valutare concretamente i gravissimi rischi ambientali connessi ad un insediamento di oltre 2.500 nuove unità di militari che porterebbe all’utilizzo di tutta l’acqua delle falde acquifere della zona a favore della base americana.
