La direttiva europea sui
viaggi in aereo dei disabili entrera` in vigore in tutti gli
scali europei il 26 luglio prossimo, ma all`aeroporto di
Fiumicino è stata recepita con alcuni giorni di anticipo e con
la costituzione di una società ad hoc, Adr Assistance.
L`assistenza nelle operazioni a terra ai disabili in
partenza, in transito e in arrivo, che ne facciano richiesta
alla compagnia aerea con cui viaggiano è erogato a titolo
gratuito dalla società di gestione aeroportuale. Per ricevere
un`assistenza secondo i livelli di servizio concordati con le
associazioni di categoria nel rispetto del Regolamento
N.1107/2006 CE, il passeggero è invitato a richiedere il
servizio alla compagnia aerea con cui effettua la prenotazione
del volo con un preavviso di almeno 48 ore. La compagnia aerea
deve quindi provvedere a prenotare il servizio di assistenza
entro 36 ore dall`ora del volo pubblicata.
Nel caso specifico, viene fatto notare a Fiumicino, non è
stata attivata la procedura di prenotazione e l`avviso della
presenza di una disabile a bordo è avvenuta pochi minuti dopo
l`arrivo dell`aeromobile: di qui l`inevitabile ritardo nelle
operazioni di assistenza. Peraltro oggi all`aeroporto di
Fiumicino sono state assistite senza problemi oltre 450 persone
a mobilità ridotta
