Il secondo incidente in due giorni con vittime sub dimostra come in Italia non ci sia il pieno rispetto delle regole sulla navigazione, e come i controlli siano carenti.
?Ogni estate ? afferma il Presidente Codacons Carlo Rienzi ? assistiamo a numerosi incidenti in mare, con imbarcazioni che investono sub e bagnanti. Questo avviene perché spesso non vengono rispettate le regole che impongono ai sub di segnalare la propria presenza, e alle barche di accendere i motori a una certa distanza dalla riva, e perché vi sono scarsi controlli da parte delle autorità preposte?.
Il Codacons ricorda infatti che la normativa vigente vieta la circolazione delle imbarcazioni a motore entro 300 metri dalla costa, e inoltre dispone che la partenza e l`attracco dei suddetti mezzi avvenga esclusivamente attraverso gli appositi spazi e le apposite corsie.
L’associazione sollecita oggi la Guardia Costiera ad incrementare i controlli in mare su tutto il territorio, onde punire i trasgressori e garantire una migliore tutela degli utenti.
